Digital SLR Cameras Rendering Film In to A Thing Of The Past
Digital SLR cameras have long rivaled their old-fashioned film-based cousins, but a short time ago they have been winning the upper hand more and more as technology advances day by day. Ease-of-use had consistently been the main appeal of digital SLR cameras, but now the amount of control has reached unprecedented levels, such that the only reason to go with film is for the resolution. But improvements of late appear to be erasing even this benefit, and breakthroughs are just around the proverbial corner that should make digital the route for the vast majority of professional photographers to embrace. In a sense, film will always be superior, but it will in all likelihood be only marginally so, and on balance not as cost-effective.
